Spring is Here

After a few quiet months and cooler temps, March has brought a bit of Spring and lighter evenings. This was my first shoot of 2022, and this sweet family was relaxed and happy in front of my camera. Here are a few favorites (and there were a lot- this shoot produced 98 keepers which is a lot for an hour session!).

Downtown Austin

I was excited to shoot a new location in downtown Austin. It was a grey, overcast morning, and it took a little while for everyone to warm up for pictures (most of us aren’t exactly excited to have our picture taken at 7a on a Sunday ;). But once we got going it was all good! Here are a few favs from our shot.

The Whole Family

This sweet mama reached out to me recently to capture images of their entire family. Mom, dad, two brothers, pup, and two sweet kitties. Those kitties were very special to this family, and they were both terminally ill. I was thrilled to help them capture everyone together before these two passed on. I really do believe that pets are a part of our family and that we will be with them again in Heaven. In the meantime, they will be dearly missed! Here are some favorites from our mini shoot.

Rise and Shine

I recently met up with this sweet fam to help capture another babe on the way. We opted for a sunrise shoot with big brother’s schedule and the long July days (a 7:30p shoot with a two year old is just asking for trouble!). It was a beautiful morning, and it felt peaceful and quiet out on Bull Creek. With recent rains, there was a ton of water flowing through this area. Here are some favorites from our little shoot.

Babies babies babies!

I was so excited to hear that this sweet family was expecting again! I started with first-birthday photos for their eldest, and it’s always a joy to continue to photograph a family as they grow. Here are a few pics from their mini-shoot in south Austin, and I can’t wait to photograph their new babe in a month!

More Than Just a Hobby

Y’all, I love photography. I mean, like realy love it!!! I know like most moms, having pictures of my family is so important. These memories, this time, caught in an image forever, brings me so much joy. But there’s so much more to it than aiming your camera at a smile. It’s all of those details, color, sharpness, warmth, texture, glimmer in the eyes, that gets me really excited. Composition, light, focal length, editing… it challenges me constantly, and my photography style continues to evolve.

On another note, sharing some favorites from a recent shoot with this darling family. And kudos to mom for styling this bunch so well!! I know from personal experience that part can be challenging!
