Boy, Boy… Girl!

This little fam just melts my heart. We go way back, and it’s always such a pleasure to do photo sessions for friends. Life is so busy, and it can be hard to get together. This has been a great way to catch up with those friends, and see how their little ones have grown! I did little sister’s newborn pictures a year ago. After having two boys, the family decided to make the gender of number three a surprise, and I was SO excited to hear that it was a girl (everyone really should have at least one of each IMO)!! Here are some favorites from sister’s first bday outdoor socially-distanced shoot.

Glass Half Full

These are definitely interesting times. While working from home with two kids has been challenging, it’s also been an incredible gift- of slowing down and spending time with the people I love.  No one knows how long we’ll be at home like this, so we might as well embrace it fully! Obviously my shoots have come to a halt, but I did get to snap this sweet family just before the shut down. Enjoy!

One, Two, Three!

I was so excited to wrap up this gallery for some sweet friends before the holidays.  Isn’t this little fam just the cutest?!!  They waited to find out the sex of their youngest, and I was so excited to hear that they’d been blessed with a girl after two boys (it’s so nice to have both!)!  Here are some favorites from our shoot.

A Little Magic

There is something so special about a couple expecting their first baby.  The excitement, anticipation, and imagination of what is to come is palpable.  I had the pleasure of photographing these two on a warm weekday evening, and magic was in the air!  We were even blessed with some surprise flowers despite the dry summer.

My Humans are Getting Married

It’s full on summer here in Austin, TX, with temps reaching the 100’s. I met up with this fun couple a few weeks ago to help celebrate their recent engagement with a photoshoot.  These two steamed it up right from the first shot!  Their sweet one-eyed pup was there to join in the action as well.  Here are some favs from our shoot.

Soon to be Four

I was so excited to hear earlier this year that this sweet little family was expecting a baby girl.  It’s just so fun watching my client-families grow! I can’t wait to see their precious baby in a few months, as well as how big brother handles the new arrival (that one can be tricky!). Here are a few favorites from our mini shoot.  Enjoy!

An Unexpected Adventure

Last weekend I met this sweet family at the north-Austin home they moved into a month ago. They’ve been having a blast exploring the nearby trails, so they wanted to capture their family there.  I’d never been to the site before, which can be tricky since I typically need to scout locations ahead of time.  But Dad did an excellent job thinking things through, and he even sent me pictures from his morning hike!  I didn’t realize quite what I was getting into – we literally hoofed it for 45 minutes into the woods!  There were some lovely little nooks along the way, and these kids seemed right at home.  Here are some favorites from our shoot.

A Dramatic Entrance

The newest addition to this sweet little family made a dramatic entrance into this world, with a serious fever scare and stay in the NICU.   Thank God everyone is doing well now!

Newborn shoots are some of my favorite.  Parents are beaming, siblings are bright eyed and curious, and then there is that adorable new born!  This little guy gave me lots of beautiful gazes, which is one of the reasons I like doing these shoots at a month or two old (rather than a few days old).  Here are some favorites from our time together.

Though She Be But Little, She is Fierce!

“Though she be but little, she is fierce” – William Shakespeare

This adorable little family was a joy to shoot, particularly since they are friends of mine.  This Shakespeare quote came to mind while I was editing their images.  Their daughter’s bold gaze is just mesmerizing!  When I took the last shot below I was afraid the backlight would spoil it, but it turned out to be my favorite from the gallery. Those blue eyes and pale skin, she’s such a beauty isn’t she?!
